Mash Notes: Used in some authentic German styles. Attempt to draw decoction from the thickest portion of the mash. Profiles vary. Some traditional German mashes use a long acid rest at 40 deg C. Also some sources recommend the decoction amount be given a 15 minute saccharification rest at 158 F (70 C) before boiling it.

Notes

Brew Day: Mash temp ended up being very low, so I took about 1.5 gallons of the mash and brought it to a boil and added it back in.

Tasting Notes: Didn't have a bottle of Snow Day to sample against, but this was a nice American brown ale. Subtle caramel sweetness balanced by the higher bittering. Overall, a very nice American Brown.
