Masterbuilt Electric Smoker

New Smoker!!! - After reading a bunch of reviews on electric smokers, I settled on the Masterbuilt 20070910.  It was inexpensive overall with a simple design and an easy to use control panel.  Over the last few years, I've smoked all kinds of thing on this smoker, all with great results!  Chicken, pork, beef, stuffed jalapenos, mac & cheese, brats, hot dogs, and I'm sure much more.  If you're in the market for an easy and mostly hands-off smoker, this is the one for you!  Also a little tip from the SmokingMeat forum, get a set of Bradley Racks (link below) so you can easily get food in and out of your smoker without removing the racks that are included.

Royal Oak Smoker

Update 5/30/2014:  After a few years of use, the element started going out on the old Royal Oak smoker and I couldn't get the it much above 200 degrees.  I ended up finding the MES-30 smoker above for a great deal and have been happy with that ever since.

After having some great smoked meat at a friend's house, I decided I needed to get a smoker.  I'm way too lazy to mess with charcoal, so electric was the only way for me.  I looked around town and ended up finding this Royal Oak smoker from Wal-Mart.  It seemed very sturdy and I liked that it had an adjustable heating element, so I picked up the show model since they didn't have anymore in stock.  It only cost $124 plus tax which I thought was a great deal.  Over the years, it's been a great little smoker! I've smoked all different kinds and cuts of meat without any problems.
